      The SHIP REC art studio has been based on the West Coast since 2018. We focus on creating original art that is applied onto fishing gear like tshirts, hats, and other apparel which shares the saltwater anglers lifestyle. The inspiration can come from kayak fishing, spearfishing, deep sea fishing, jetty fishing, and many other avenues. The name Ship Rec fishing is taken from the idea of recreational boat fishing and the term Shipwreck. 
    
     Ship Rec Fishing was founded by Paul Fuentes an avid fisherman who grew up in the Los Angeles area. Fishing piers, beaches and jetties from Ventura to san Diego, eventually switching to kayak fishing in local harbors and deep sea fishing charters. The Charter boats would visit the channel islands, Catalina, and the Coronado islands. During this fishing exploration of the south west coast of California Paul was blown way by the vast marine life in our back yard and was consumed by the sport. Inspired by other brands like  Salty Crew,  Liquid Assasins, Haggared pirate, Salt Life, Palegic. Every year he would attend the Fredhall Show looking to stock up on new fishing gear and apparel along with getting to meet up with some of the youtube fishing gurus like Capt. Ali Hussainy host of Local Knowledge and Afron the owner of War Baits.

     Ship Rec Fishing hopes to add inspiration and positive vibes to the west coast angler's everyday life with fresh art and vibrant colors, helping them to stay motivated and reminding them of that next rad fishing adventure with friends and family.
